Lindsay Hearn, Chairperson
Lindsay is the communications director for The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and downtown Asheville’s Grove Arcade. She has expertise in fundraising, public relations, board relations, event management and writing.
For thirteen years, she was the American Representative for the National Museums of Scotland, responsible for U.S. board and donor relations, strategies for all U.S. fundraising and the execution of major international events and donor excursions.
She has developed media plans and executed campaigns for the 75th anniversary of Penland School of Crafts and the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands, among others. Lindsay has also written speeches, developed multi-media presentations and produced programs and ceremonies for many not-for-profit organizations including the centennial of the New York Zoological Society, Brendan Gill: A Tribute, the Municipal Arts Society, the Merchant’s House Museum, the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument Fund, Catholic Charities and the Cycladic Art Foundation. Prior to her work with not-for-profits, she worked in television as a writer and producer for Raycom Sports and the CBS affiliate in Birmingham, AL. She serves on the board of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy and is an active volunteer for Claxton Elementary School.
