The French Broad River Academy is an independent, all-male middle school that will provide its students with a challenging and compelling educational experience by engaging them with the French Broad River. The river and its surrounding watershed are the basis of study and inquiry, the focus of conservation efforts, and a resource for recreation.

As one of the oldest rivers in the world, we believe the French Broad River Watershed is of vital importance to the current and future economic and environmental interests of the surrounding region. Unfortunately, the river has suffered from excessive pollution and unrestricted development and continues to be threatened. The French Broad River Academy will provide its students with meaningful and relevant learning experiences to produce informed citizens who will advocate for the protection and restoration of the French Broad and other precious natural resources worldwide.

A rigorous academic curriculum and small class size, a deep understanding of the world we live in and the ethic of stewardship will provide graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in high school, college and the competitive world. They will become leaders in their own communities and protectors of the resources that they cherish.

Stewardship:
Our comprehensive program of outdoor and environmental education, centered on the French Broad River watershed, will create active and engaged advocates for the protection of our natural resources.

Our Long-term Plan:
